This is one of the very first ciders we made when first opened our cidery & winery in 2006. Our winemaker was inspired by the perfect pairing of apples and ginger. That year we made just one barrel and it was the first commercially available Ginger Cider. The lightly spicy combination of heirloom apples and certified organic ginger root creates a surprisingly versatile sparkling, semi-sweet cider.
The apples in this cider are from our heirloom orchard and other heirloom orchards on the Olympic Peninsula where we live. These apples are sustainably grown with no sprays. We use certified organic ginger root that is grown in Hawaii or Peru.
Ginger Cider is a surprisingly versatile cider that pairs well with cheeses, chicken, seafood, Asian fare. It's also perfect on its own.

We are following in the tradition of the original Washington State homesteaders who planted a cider orchard on our property when it was first settled in 1883. Everything we do is homemade, small batch and made with organic or sustainably grown fruit.
